Chicago Should Consider Renaming "NOW: Chicago XXXVI" as "UNLEASHED!" It's THAT Good.

Chicago's latest musical gem, "NOW: Chicago XXXVI," is THE Chicago sound fans have known and loved for more than four decades. The brass is smokin' hot thanks to Jimmy Pankow, Lee Loughnane and Walt Parazaider. The guitar licks and solos by Keith Howland are simply his best since joining the band. Drummer Tris Imboden and percussionist Walfredo Reyes provide a solid percussive background. And the lead vocals by Robert Lamm, Jason Scheff, Lou Pardini and Lee are some of their best. The mixture and…See More

Chicago's Continued Influence on Today's Youth

Probably no other band has influenced more student musicians, particularly those in middle school through college band, like CHICAGO.I well remember when I first began playing trumpet in the late 1960s, how much I wanted to emulate Lee Loughnane, Jimmy Pankow and Walter Parazaider and copy the voice and composition style of Robert Lamm. Today, I often catch my own three children (one a flutist and the other two, trumpet players) listening and enjoying CHICAGO's music just as much as I first…See More

Another Incredible Performance

It can be said that music is the world's gift that keeps on giving. This can certainly be said of CHICAGO as once more, the band gave a fan-packed house yet another incredible performance last evening (July 29th) at Cincinnati's Riverbend Music Center. And for those of us who have closely followed the band over the years, it never ceases to amaze me the diversity in age CHICAGO's concerts attract. In my row alone I had a couple in their 70s to an aspiring 13-year old trumpet player!Although it…See More

Hits/Non-Hits Turned into Jam Session Downloads?

The news of new Chicago music coming soon has me really pumped! I'm sure it'll be great! As the guys continue to explore creative ways to offer fans downloadable music, what about re-recording some of your hits and non-hits and turn them into Chicago-style jam sessions? No one can do jam sessions better than Chicago! Just attend a concert and that becomes apparent. Just an idea... Keep up the great work and we'll see you July 29th in Cincy!See More

Chicago's Holiday Movie Two Thumbs Up!

I just returned from seeing Chicago's new holiday movie and I am PUMPED! The interviews of each band member, the performances of classic hits and selections from the recently released "O Christmas Three," tour photos and so much more make this big screen production a wonderful Christmas treat for any Chicago fan. The genuine comraderie that exists among the guys comes through loud and clear in this production. It's no wonder Chicago is America's most successful band. Congratulations, guys, on a…See More

I do remember that they played a lot of songs from their upcoming album(Chicago IV I think)and saved their earlier hits until the end.Unfortunately, the school paper didn't give them a great review.I,however thought it was a great concert.
