Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell are featured singing lead vocals and harmonies, as well as playing acoustic guitars on my arrangement of "I Saw Three Ships". It's a very organic track from the new holiday album, and lends itself so naturally to my friends' sound.
After we recorded the track with Phil Ramone in Nashville, we sent 'the stems' to Hank Linderman in Los Angeles…

Collaborations on new RL Solo Album "Living Proof".
This past few weeks, we've been (Hank Linderman Producing and Recording) working with the very talented Zosia K. I am very excited and impressed with her ideas, both musically and lyrically. As of today, I have about 12 new songs, some of which have made brief preview appearances on BIM.com, in raw form. But the most recent songs are the ones Zosia and I have created via internet. Cool stuff! She is the real…

Anyone who loves music, particularly great songs, probably remembers the moment he first listened to "The Girl From Ipanema" or "Desafinado". For me it was something like the summer of 1962. As a teenager, and fledgling musician, I was in orbit around the music of Motown, The Beatles and Chicago radio Jazz DJ Sid McCoy.
Then I heard the composer Jobim, and I found a part of myself. The mysteries of the long shaped melodies, and the complex harmonic structures completely resonated in…

Robert have a nice Memorial Day! enjoy xoxo.
Hi Robert,
And? Did your 'Aeroplane' have a 'smooth flight' last night? Do tell!
Hope you had a great time,
Yvonne
I would love to see Robert, Lee and the band invite Peter back. Wouldn't that be the ticket?! Jason and Peter singing together?! The energy this group has is amazing! The creativity and commitment to excellence is second to none! The excellence and proficiency of instruments, vocals and horns has been the staple of my music dedication for over 40 years! I am 52 now and have played the trumpet for many, many years hoping for a chance to play with Lou and never imagining that Lou would be able to play as good as he does for this long! Robert's leadership, voice and musicality have been the glue this band needed, but this band doesn't need to fade away! Jason and the new guys have been here long enough to have learned the Chicago style and they can bring in others in the future who will continue the magic and has been one of the core happinesses of my life! Chicago truly has been a part of me. My mother died when I was very young and consequently I didn't lear a lot of the things a mother would have taught, such as how to grieve at a loss of someone dear; how to treat and love a woman properly? Chicago's poignant lyrics coupled with searing vocals and spont-on, tight horns, all contributed to my maturation emotionally! I can't say enough about this band! I intend to take my wife to the concert in Boise in September and hope to meet you personally, Robert! Stay healthy and forever young my friend!
hi
robert have a wonderful week xoxo.
Marie Heckman said… Hello Robert. Thanks for accepting my friend request. The show in Niagara Falls on May 5th was amazing and we so enjoyed it. As you can tell by the member comments, I'm not the only one who had great things to say about the performance. We folks in the Buffalo-Niagara Region just have good taste. I was thrilled to be able to see all of you. Thank you so much!!
