This past Saturday night, My sister and brother inlaw and I saw Chicago at the casino Rama, \north if Barrie Ontario.

It was part of my Christmas present from them. It was Awesome. the best concert I have seen in years. I see that a couple of the members have been replaced. These guys were truly talented musicians.I will be anticipating seeing the band again.    ellen lane

When You Love Somebody...Till the End of Time REVISED

I don't know where to begin, but I feel the need to reach out and let you know that one of the band's loyal fans Don, my husband of 30 years, and my childhood sweetheart passed away on April 11 awaiting a liver transplant. Although he had a live donor (his brother-in-law) ready to provide part of his liver my husband became too weak to undergo the surgery and things went horribly wrong.  I just wanted you all to know how much the band meant to him and subsequently to my family.  As a young…

A big dream came true for me this week when I got tickets to see Chicago in Moline with my two grown children. I started dreaming about this when the kids were still little, and now it's going to happen. My next dream is that all 4 original members will be there. That would be nearly overwhelming, and I told the kids that if they're all there, they will probably see a grown man cry!

Seeing the boys in concert with my kids: I can die now--well, after the show, of course.

"The Nashville Sessions" Liner Notes: CD now available!

IN 2008, CHICAGO© HAD BEGUN A RELATIONSHIP WITH PRIMARY WAVE MUSIC, AN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC PUBLISHER. IT WAS AN EARLY STEP TOWARDS, OF NECESSITY, CREATING A MECHANISM FOR THE BAND TO DO THE BUSINESS OF MUSIC IN THE 21ST CENTURY. OBVIOUSLY, THE ENTIRE LANDSCAPE HAD CHANGED FROM WHAT WAS NORMAL WHEN THE BAND'S DEBUT ALBUM “CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY” WAS RELEASED IN 1969.

THE BAND CONTINUES TO FLOURISH,…

New Chicago Brass Arrangement...

"I asked Trent Gardner to interpret the fiery angst of the past decade with his brass soli. His arrangement contribution is so apt on so many levels. This moment in the piece is climactic and hints at the beginning of a return to the 'Garden's' serenity ... at least as a hope". [This sketch is T's trombones only -pre Chicago brass.] Scoring in the works.

Jason and the San Diego Musicians Union

Jason and I were playing a gig at a bowling alley in El Cajon, California.  We were doing our usual thing with Jerry Olsher and Randy (I wish I could think of his last name) and enjoying the atmosphere of lots of smoke and beer (oh for smoke-free rooms then) and then it all happened.  We got busted for having a minor in a bar and - in a union house.  Next day Jason joined the San Diego local of the Musicians Union.  He is the youngest member to join that union.  There was no punishment…

New Clips

Can't wait for the finished product. This stuff is terrific. Let's up the radio P.D.'s wake up and give it some play once released. "Something's Coming" reminds me of a little "John Legend-ish". It's like full circle back to the CTA through at least C7. Great...keep it coming.

More of early Jason Part 2

Get this!  It's a Saturday morning and my band, "The Roberts Connection" was headed to LeMoore, California to play an OTO gig.  Jason is 12 and while very young, an incredible bass player.  At this point he was not singing, but as we headed up north, we stopped at a cotton patch.  I took a picture of him in his beige shorts and a t-shirt among the cotton. It was such a sweet picture.  I wish I could find it so I could share it with you.  I'll keep looking.

I don't remember much…

"Free At Last" -New Chicago work in progress!

The diversity and depth of Chicago's band members is shown again by this great Keith Howland track (a Lamm/Howland/Imboden collaboration). "It has a retro, but current feel. It was cut with no click track to let…
