A Family Music Tradition- CHICAGO and Band

All, forgive this "proud dad message," but my youngest, Jacob, joins our local high school band program today-- about 140 kids.

He makes the family's 5th trumpeter, 7th marcher, and 7th consecutive family bandsmen since 1943! And one of my son's biggest inspirations-- CHICAGO. Thanks, Guys, for supporting Music in Our Schools and for continuing to inspire young musicians like my son.

Chicago/Blood,Sweat & Tears together in concert!

Recently read on line that Chicago and BS&T appeared together at a music festival back in July in Germany. What would it take to get chicago to do a tour with BS&T in the US...maybe even get David Clayton Thomas to join them for at least one big event like when they worked with Earth wind & Fire at The Greek Theater in LA. Now that would be a performance to attend as well as to remember!

"Keep The Faith" -new Robert Lamm track!

About the track:( from RL)

Hank started this song, really had the shape of the verse and chorus, music wise. The tough groove was perfect. And his first verse lyric set the tone of foreboding ... the inevitable point at which we must be brave, finding strength in spiritual inspiration.

The subsequent verses and bridge came from my perpetual demons. I love this song. I need a t-shirt with "keep the faith".

CHICAGO in Alabama!

My favorite band since the late 60's is going to play at the Anniston Alabama Performing Arts center which only seats 1200!  I had to by season tickets just to ensure I get a seat.  I guess my wife and daughter will enjoy the plays and stuff. I started playing drums after I got my first Chicago album (Chicago Transit Authority) in 1969.  I will be the guy at the center with my Chicago hat and my album in hand - just hoping for signatures from the original 4.  Can't wait!  The ohter thing I can… Continue

Chicago Rocks Ravinia 8/28/11

Dear Chicago, this was a great night as it was the first time seeing you live. I brought my whole family and we loved every minute. Both my oldest daughter (13 years old) and I play trombone so hearing the great sounds of the horns especially John Pankow was the best. Also I have not heard (Wake Up Sunshine) for about 20 years but when you guys ripped into it, I started singing the words like it was yesterday.

We did not want the music to end, but during the encore, we went…
