Hi All,

Drew Hester notified Chicago that due to his primary passion of playing drums,
he would leave the touring band to pursue this passion.

Chicago has hired Walfredo Reyes on percussion, who will blow your mind, being
a perfect fit for the touring band.

In a short amount of time, he already fits the Chicago ensemble like a glove.

WOW...I assume this is Walfredo SR...not that Walfredo JR would be a bad choice.  Totally understand Drew's desire to get back behind a set, but unlike to Doobies, Chicago is a one drummer band...and Tris is as good as it gets!  Good luck Drew...ITS JUNIOR WALFREDO ....HE PLAYED WITH SANTANA ..

IMO you should have bent over backwards to keep drew...give tris the odd one off to play percussion or be director of music...drew should still be here....too many changes IMO...keep the best ,,,,stay drew stay...

I'm sorry I was never at a live concert with Drew, but I do have the HDNet Chicago in Chicago concert and he did an amazing job in that performance. My wife and I got to see Danny Reyes play at the Ft. Lauderdale concert a month ago and he too, puts on a great performance. Since it seems the talent runs in the Reyes family, I'm looking forward to Walfredo joining up and see his performances.

Best of luck, Drew. You are a terrific percussionist and drummer and there's no doubt in my mind that you will always be an important asset to any band you affiliate with!

I saw Drew perform with the band at McMenamin's Edgefield in 2010.   He did a terrific job.  I'm sorry to see him go,  I hope Walfredo Reyes doesn't disappoint!

I will miss Drew.  He was a great drummer for Chicago when filling in for Tris during his illness.  At the time Tris was out, I saw Drew perform live with Chicago at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida and had a great view of his performance sitting in the front row center stage.  He seemed to fill Tris' shoes seemlessly. I was blown away by his sound.  I was glad to see him stay on when Tris came back.  Drew will be missed.  Tris seems to be stronger than ever and I look forward to Walfredo Reyes' contribution to the timeless great sound of Chicago.  Good luck to Drew and Walfredo!
