This song is the 3rd collaboration with Z. I originally had the music, track, loops, but no melody or lyric.

Gave it to Lenny Kravitz, but he kind of decided to be party celeb instead of musician.

Gave it to Champlin, but he typically sneered at writing with me.

Sent it to Z who had the melody, the harmonies and the lyric story done, OVERNIGHT! via Internet.

I like your honesty in who you would have shared this material with and why it wasn't celebrated. I noticed that you and Bill never worked together on much. Your writing here is very now and AC chart oriented. Maybe why those songs were calling out to Bill and led him away. His replacement never looks bored on stage. Anyway, you are a treasure to American music and songwriting, Lenny could have done an excellent version of this. His 15 minutes is up though. While Chicago's is still going. Peace.

I enjoyed listening to this SO MUCH! I also enjoyed reading about the creative process. That being said, I would like to 'soundoff' somewhat. I have read negative comments all over the web from 'fans' of Chicago that criticize everything from singing, and clothing to hair. I feel it is unfair that we (the public) can comment as we see fit, but band members don't have the same right? This isn't court, but if it were Mr. Lamm would be considered an expert in the music field. I enjoyed his comments and candidness, thought it was touching and refreshing that he opened up and shared them. It was the history and evolution of the beautiful song..."Liquid Sky". Thanks Mr. Lamm. Please continue to write the truth, as YOU see it. Some of us truly enjoy what you have to say, good or otherwise.

Robert, for over 44 years you have given unselfishly of yourself and the World is a better place for it, you’ve been honest, direct and unapologetic and your songs and lyrics have inspired us, motivated us, moved us, challenged us, informed us, all while entertaining us! From the most poignant and moving love songs of all time (Beginnings), to holding a mirror up to us with Does Anybody Really Know What Time It is, Or a wake up call like Dialogue part 1 and 2, and A Song for Richard and His Friends, Tabla, Harry Truman …. IF ANYONE has earned the right to speak his mind and share his opinions you sure have.

Thanks for sharing....the song, and Zosia's voice both BEAUTIFUL, can’t wait for the release.

We are privileged to be given this advanced glimpse.

Smooth yet moving - goes well listening with a martini.  Great lyrics, too.

Robert,

I really enjoyed this song. After hearing it I believe that it was meant to be done by Zosia. Her vocals just fit this song perfectly. Now I want to know how to buy a copy.

Thanks
