Chicago The Band Fan Forum

The official community for fans of the legendary rock band with horns.

Hi All!

I'm new the Chicago The Band Music Community.  I've been a loyal Chicago fan since the day I bought the "Chicago Transit Authority" album back in the early seventies when it was released. I'm retired military, and they have been there with me through high school, many military deployments, marriage, divorce, marriage again, children, and grandchildren.  It's amazing how so many of the songs I grew up with and went through life with still resonate.  I've been to many of the concerts (some of the ticket stubs attached LOL), and have always wanted to tell these guys how much they positively impacted my life and the lives of my family!

Judy--I hear you!  I've been with them since the first album.  Last year the staff was so supportive with replies.  Now......no replies even after they said to wait until this year.  I don't know what to do now--I am wondering if they see our posts....

I think I understand how it works now--I bought our tickets for VA Beach, however I think the only way to get a backstage pass is to buy a VIP package.  I didn't know that per the emails I got back from the staff--now it's too late for me to buy any backstage VIP passes as they are all out.  The last time I asked about getting backstage in 2014 the staff said it was too late and wait for 2015 and they would make it happen.  I did, but I think that went by the wayside with the VIP packages.  Oh well--we tried and will continue with the concerts--but it sure would be nice after following the band from Chicago Transit Authority through now to get the opportunity to meet them.  Shucks--maybe next time huh?

Alison--I apologize for not replying sooner!  Yes I was at Tinker Air Force base on aircrew.  Great state and great area to live!

Wow--I posted this in 2014 and hoped to go backstage--they said we had to plan out to 2015 and even wanted to post all these tickets from past times.  Hopefully from all the messages I've sent, the staff will let us know if we have a chance at getting backstage!!

Welcome, Dana!   Just curious, did you spend time at Tinker Air Force base during your career in the military?  I noticed several Lloyd Noble Center ticket stubs.   I've spent most of my life in Tulsa, OK and now live in Edmond, OK.  My first Chicago Concert wasn't until 2006 when I finally saw the band perform at The Brady in Tulsa.  Have been a fan since the 70s though.  My first Chicago album purchase was Hot Streets.

Kathy, Barbara, and Diana--thanks for your replies--kind of great for me to connect with folks that understand and appreciate all this great music and the band that makes it happen!!  Lots of memories for me every time I look at a ticket stub!! LOL!  Thanks all again for the welcome!

Eric that's so cool--wish I had seen that--the Carnegie Hall package (white cover) is such a great show!!  Thanks for the reply!

My first Chicago concert was April 15, 1971 in Fresno, CA... their first stop after doing Carnegie Hall, and they were HOT!!!  Wish I'd kept my tickets.
